INTERESTING FACTS:
- The Reserves took Bishops Itchington Reserves (two divisions higher) to a penalty shootout, which they eventually lost 6-5 in sudden death, after Jase Timms belted his penalty against the crossbar! (Rumours circulating that Paul Franklin dished out his own brand of ‘sudden death’ on some smug Bishops players were strenuously denied by his agent)
- There were 18 different goalscorers for the Reserves this season, 19 if you include opposition own goals!
- Half of those scorers were teenagers.
- Paul Franklin was the only regular outfield Reserve player not to score, though he would make up for this with an absolutely crucial goal in the next season’s run-in, when he was actually a First Team regular.
- The last day defeat to Fenny Compton was the last defeat the Reserves would suffer in 2008, and saw co-manager Aaron Bliss’ final goal for Deddington Town.
